5 Head Canon Facts about Eric & Pam & AR
1.) Eric never considered that he would be a maker again after Pam. The decision to become a maker in the first place is something Eric wrestled with for centuries because he understood the importance and the weight of it. He knew that whoever he chose would be a reflection not only of himself but of Godric and he wanted very much to make his own Maker proud. So his selection of Pam was careful, deliberate she was THE ONE. And once she was turned Eric was incredibly relieved not to have to think about it again.
...until he came to New York and met Arnold Rothstein and even though Pam was still barely a newborn he began to entertain the possibility. In his head he planned to WAIT. To take Pam and head West, visit with Godric spend some time traveling and come back to New York in a couple of decades and pick up AR then. Fate seemingly had other plans. Once AR was dying Eric knew that all his best laid plans were well and truly screwed and he had to make a decision - stick to his plans to wait to make another progeny and watch AR die in the process or wing it. Looking back, it was one of the easiest decisions of his life.
2.) Eric was shocked at how easily Pam took to the role of sister. He still remembers the insane jealousy he felt when Godric made Isabel. At the time he thought it was the worst day of his life. But Pam stepped in to help with her brother and her nephew and her uncle. He will never forget the pride he had in her for that.
3.) He knows that he should arrange for a kingdom for Pam. It's her time and she's more than capable. But at the same time Eric's reluctant to have her parted from him for so long. It was one thing with AR because AR was surrounded with family even without Eric. Eric is constantly telling himself that he'll let Pam out of his sight....tomorrow.
4.) He's not even slightly surprised AR turned Charlie. The only thing that surprises him is that he was able to do it when very few baby vampires have that kind of control.
5.) Eric Northman the Sheriff of Area Five, the Big Bad is totally and utterly progeny whipped. There is very little that the twins could ask of him that Eric won't give them or help them get themselves. Pam regularly receives "guests" from the Moscow Ballet. She could fill a swimming pool with the diamonds and rubies Eric's given her. AR has professional stables filled with the offspring of the hundreds of thoroughbreds Eric's given him. He spoils them because he can, and he spoils them because he takes great pride in them both.
